Must Try

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture.
  3. Knead the dough and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle, place butter in the center, fold, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Repeat rolling and folding 3 times, resting in the fridge between folds.
  6. Shape into croissants, let them rise, and brush with egg wash.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes.

While croissants do provide some nutritional benefits, they’re also high in fats and calories. They’re best enjoyed as part of a balanced diet, rather than a daily breakfast item. Pairing a croissant with fruits, lean proteins, and other nutrient-dense foods can help balance your meal.
