Mexican Spiced Fruit Agua Fresca

Must Try

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups fresh fruit (like watermelon, pineapple, or mango), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey (adjust according to sweetness preference)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chopped fresh fruit, lime juice, agave syrup (or honey), and 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, using a spatula to press out the liquid while discarding the pulp.
  3. Add the remaining 2 cups of water to the pitcher and stir well to combine.
  4. Mix in the ground cinnamon, chili powder, and salt, adjusting to taste as necessary.
  5. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve the agua fresca over ice, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired.
