Instructions
In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil and add the edamame pods. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add the cooked edamame to the skillet with the garlic. Stir to coat the edamame in the oil and garlic.
If using, drizzle the soy sauce over the edamame and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired). Toss everything together until well combined.
Remove from heat and transfer the edamame to a serving bowl. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
Serve warm or at room temperature as a delicious Chinese appetizer!
